For aspiring science fiction writers and fans of the genre, John M. Campbell will be giving a free talk in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, 23 April 2022. The presentation is titled "How to Become a Writer of the Future." It takes place at 2 pm in the Sam Gary Library, 2961 Roslyn St., Denver, CO 80238. John will relate his journey from a science fiction reader to an award-winning short-story author. He will show beginning writers the free online resources available to hone their craft and test their stories in the contest against other new writers. Not only do winners of the Writers of the Future contest receive cash awards, but they are also given an almost all-expense-paid trip to Hollywood for a writer's workshop with the contest judges and fellow winning authors. His entertaining talk features pictures, videos, and prizes that show the special experience of the week-long workshop leading to an awards banquet and gala.
Copies of the Writers of the Future anthology that features John's story, "The Tiger and the Waif," will be available for purchase and signing.
