My military science fiction novella, "The Rescue of Captain Gutierrez," has been selected by Cannon Publishing as a finalist in their High Caliber Awards competition for new writers. It is one of nine manuscripts that now will be considered by a panel of four judges who will select the winners. An anthology of the winning novellas will be published later this year.
